And God hears these Christian singles and answers with love. Life is an experience of seasons. The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that there is an appointed time for everything. No one is bothered or prompted to question when it is a season of blessing. However, when a season seems to use the Northern Lights as a measuring stick for the length of the season (and challenge follows challenge; nothing follows nothing) it is quite a different response. And who can blame Christian singles for asking God for a break.

Another factor about a dark season is that everything is exaggerated. For example, a small sound during the daylight is barely noticeable. The same sound in the dark of night sounds many times louder.

My heart goes out to Christian singles that are in a negative season that will not pass. This could be a season of financial challenges, health problems, or a period of loneliness for Christian singles. I can still recall some extended periods when I was single that felt like I was falling down a long chute. The fall never stopped and there wasn’t any way that I could find a way to grab onto something to stop. These extended seasons can zap one’s strength if not approached correctly.

Beloved Christian singles, have events in life left you financially challenged without hope?

Try as you may, do you continue to expend effort to connect in relationships with other Christian singles, but nothing seems to work out?

Allow me to share some practical realities that may help many Christian singles:

It is darkest before the dawn. There will be a dawn!

A person wandering in a dark cave often turns the wrong way in their journey to find the way out. One looking onto such a person’s journey will observe that they were close to the opening on several occasions, only to turn back into the dark cave.

The children of Israel wandered for 40 years in a desert that was only a few miles from the Promised Land.

The effort Christian singles spend to cover and protect a fear is far greater than the effort required to work through the fear to freedom.

The difference between right and wrong lies in a choice.

I plead with Christian singles to take a step back from your life. Ask God’s Spirit to help you analyze every aspect of your life.

Does God want Christian singles to fail? No!

Does God want the failures of Christian singles to dictate their future? Absolutely not!

Today Christian singles are seeking freedom and answers in many places. Satan has built a sophisticated arsenal to fool Christian singles into reaching for an idol that only leads into imprisonment.

I believe the number one restriction at play in the lives of Christian singles today is fear. The fear “to be” or “not to be” is the controlling factor behind behavior and choices.

Do not be fooled. Walk into the light to chase away the darkness in your life. The light is completely found in God’s Spirit. The solution to whatever challenge you are in can be found in the person and presence of Jesus.

Walking in the light also includes being in the presence of those who are filled with God’s Spirit. This walk may include receiving at times, but it must primarily be in serving others. This is a principle that God has built into us. Christian singles should seek ways to serve.

Our walk through the sunshine and storms of life will one day be transformed into all Sonshine. God’s Spirit wants to guide Christian singles to joy and victories in this world as well as throughout eternity.
